Trellix File and Removable Media Protection 5.5.0 (on-premises)
Introducing SaaS migration capabilities
The Trellix File and Removable Media Protection (FRP) 5.5.0 on-premises release is now available. This release introduces the ability to migrate FRP-managed endpoints from on-premises to SaaS. The SaaS migration will be possible once the corresponding FRP 5.5.0 SaaS release is generally available, which is expected soon.
The key improvements in this release include:
- Reporting of ePO - SaaS eligibility: Provides business continuity by ensuring only endpoints using SaaS-supported features will be eligible for SaaS migration. This eligibility check automatically filters out ineligible endpoints within the ePO - SaaS Migration Wizard. It also provides proactive reports on endpoints that might require added action before migration.
- Hardware-based stack protection (HSP): Provides enhanced security against advanced control-flow hijacking attacks.
- Bulk migration to SaaS of removable media (RM) recovery data: Ensure all RM recovery data is available in SaaS, from one or more on-premises ePO servers. This enables the SaaS helpdesk operator to recover any RM devices that have been initialized from a managed FRP endpoint.
- FRP-managed endpoint migration to SaaS: Integration with the ePO - SaaS Migration Wizard for seamless migration of FRP clients to SaaS, if eligible.
- Bulk migration to SaaS of RM device events: Ensure the last 100 days of RM device events are available in SaaS for regulatory / compliance reporting needs.
