In response to customer feedback and migration challenges during the transition from Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) to Trellix Intelligent Virtual Execution (IVX), we are officially extending support timelines for select ATD hardware models and virtual deployments beyond the originally published End of Life (EOL) date of December 31, 2025.
This one-time exception is intended to give customers the time and confidence they need to transition smoothly to IVX.
Revised support timelines
| Product Type | Model / Platform | EOL Date | Extended Support Date |
| Hardware | ATD-3100, ATD-6100 | December 31, 2025 | June 30, 2026 |
| Hardware | ATD-3200, ATD-6200 | June 30, 2028 | No change |
| Virtual | ATD-VM1008, ATD-VM1008-EP (Hyper-V) | December 31, 2025 | December 31, 2026 |
| Software | ATD Release 5.2.x | December 31, 2025 | June 30, 2026 |
What is included in the Extended Support period?
No new feature development is planned for ATD during the extension period.
During this extension, customers with valid entitlements will continue to receive:
- Technical support via standard channels (email, portal, phone)
- Hardware RMA support (for eligible models still under warranty)
- Migration support to IVX
- Purchase of new IVX hardware
Engineering support details
- Engineering will continue to ship the monthly detection package.
- Engineering will provide support for ATD to IVX migration issues faced by customers, including assistance with data backup before migration.
- Software fixes and troubleshooting will not be provided until the ATD customer is on IVX.
Exception: Engineering will provide support only for issues impacting production, and only after the standard Support team has exhausted all troubleshooting steps.
Why this extension?
We understand that
- Customers are facing timing and technical hurdles in transitioning to IVX.
- Many customers need additional time to test and validate IVX in production.
- Hyper-V support for Virtual IVX is not yet Generally Available (GA), limiting migration options for some environments.
This extension demonstrates our commitment to supporting our customers through this strategic transition.
Migration guidance: From ATD to IVX
We encourage all customers to begin transitioning to IVX
Key points
- IVX delivers all core threat detection capabilities from ATD, plus enhanced performance and extensibility.
- Customers with valid ATD entitlements may migrate to IVX (software upgrade required).
- The IVX Migration Guide outlines prerequisites, deployment steps, and post-upgrade support.
- TIS (ATD) to IVX migration documentation is available.
Looking ahead
We remain committed to providing secure, modern, and flexible solutions that meet evolving customer needs. While this extension provides critical breathing room, we strongly encourage customers to work closely with their Trellix account teams to develop an IVX upgrade plan before the new support deadlines.
