This notification is to inform you that the Legacy Trellix Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) Client endpoint software versions 3.4.0.x to 4.2.x will reach End of Life (EOL) on July 31, 2027.
What this means for our Commercial and/or Partner customers
The Trellix EDR Client has been replaced by Trellix EDR for Forensics (EDRF) Client, a modernized endpoint agent that offers superior threat detection, simplified management, and optional advanced forensics capabilities.
You are entitled to upgrade automatically to the EDRF Client with no change to your existing contract. If you have a complex environment, you may choose to upgrade manually instead.
For the list of supported operating systems, see the Knowledge Base article Supported Platforms for Trellix EDR with Forensics.
Note: The EDR Client will remain fully operational and supported until July 2027. Trellix recommends that you plan your migration to the EDRF Client before the scheduled EOL date.
What this means for our Federal / Government customers
We recognize that FedRAMP and IL5 environments require specific authorization timelines. While the general EOL is set for 2027, the rollout of the EDRF Client for specialized environments is scheduled as follows:
- FedRAMP customers: The EDRF Client is scheduled to become available in Q2 2026.
- DoD IL5 customers: The EDRF Client is scheduled to become available in Q3 2026.
Note: No immediate action is required for FedRAMP and IL5 customers at this time. Your current EDR Client versions remain fully supported and compliant, and appropriate extensions would be granted if there are delays to the EDRF Client availability, specifically in FedRAMP and IL5 Environments.
