Dear Valued Customer,
For many years, Trellix has had the privilege of securing your critical infrastructure. Our journey together has been built on a foundation of trust and a shared commitment to staying ahead of an ever-changing threat landscape.
To ensure we continue providing the high-performance, modern security updates your business deserves, we are focusing our expansion on the next generation of platforms. As part of this natural evolution, we will begin the transition for several of our long-serving legacy Linux distributions.
At the same time, we do not want to leave our legacy customers behind who are constrained from moving immediately to newer environments, and we want to give them an adequate buffer to plan their migration.
Our path forward together
Effective September 9, 2026, the following operating systems will transition from standard support to our legacy phase. This move allows us to dedicate more resources to protecting the modern environments you are moving toward:
| Operating System Family | Versions Reaching End of Support (EOS) | Effective Date |
| Red Hat Enterprise Linux | 7.x (excluding 7.9) | September 9, 2026 |
| CentOS Linux | 6.x and 7.x (excluding 7.9) | September 9, 2026 |
| Oracle Linux | 6.x and 7.x (excluding 7.9) | September 9, 2026 |
Note: For RHEL 6, we previously published the EOS notice here: End of Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 with Trellix Application and Change Control for Linux.
Supporting your transition
We understand that every infrastructure moves at its own pace. Because we have supported these platforms for so many years, we want to ensure you feel supported during this change with flexible options:
-
Option 1: Modernize with confidence
Migrate to a modern, fully supported version (for example, RHEL 8/9 or Oracle Linux 8/9). This ensures you continue to receive full engineering support, including the latest security patches, bug fixes, and our most advanced features. -
Option 2: Our "bridge" to the future (Extended Support SKU)
If your environment requires more time, we are proud to offer a Linux Extended Support SKU. This is designed specifically to act as a temporary bridge, providing you with Technical Phone Support on a Commercially Reasonable Efforts basis while you finalize your upgrade plans.
Next steps
Your success remains our priority. We encourage you to reach out to your Account Manager or Trellix Sales Representative. They are ready to help you evaluate your current environment and choose the path that best secures your timeline.
Thank you for being a part of the Trellix story for all these years. We look forward to securing your future for many more.
